In July, colleagues from across MAST came together for our annual Staff Awards Night — an evening dedicated to recognising the people who make such an important contribution to our schools, our children and our communities.

Held at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel, the event brought together more than 100 colleagues from across the Trust for an evening of celebration, reflection and recognition.

This year, an incredible 325 nominations were received across our eight schools, highlighting the depth of commitment, care and professionalism shown by colleagues in every part of MAST.

The awards recognised a wide range of contributions from across our schools, celebrating colleagues who consistently go above and beyond, demonstrate our Trust values and make a lasting difference to children, families and one another.

Throughout the evening, we heard stories of outstanding teamwork, leadership, care, resilience, innovation and service. The nominations reflected the many different ways colleagues contribute to school life — from the classroom and school office to safeguarding, premises, inclusion, pastoral support and leadership.

The event was also an opportunity to recognise the collective strength of MAST. While every school has its own identity, community and character, the Awards Night brought colleagues together as one wider team, united by our shared commitment to helping children and adults Belong, Be Safe and Flourish.

Chief Executive Officer Ben Hulme said:

“Across MAST, there are hundreds of people doing extraordinary things every day. The Staff Awards are an opportunity to stop, recognise that contribution and celebrate the impact our colleagues have on children, families and each other.

“What makes the evening particularly special is that the nominations come from within our own schools. They reflect the respect, appreciation and gratitude colleagues have for one another, and they remind us just how much there is to be proud of across MAST.”

The evening celebrated both individual achievement and the wider culture we are continuing to build across the Trust — one where people are valued, collaboration is encouraged and success is shared.

We are incredibly proud of every colleague who was nominated and grateful to everyone who helped make the evening such a memorable celebration.

The Staff Awards Night will return next year as we continue to recognise the people who make MAST such a special place to work and learn.
