Freedom of Information

MAST is committed to openness, transparency and accountability.

As a public authority, Medway Anglican Schools Trust is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This gives members of the public the right to request access to recorded information held by the Trust, subject to certain legal exemptions.

Before making a request, you may wish to check whether the information you are looking for is already available on this website, including within our Governance, Statutory Information, Policies and Financial Information pages.

Making a Freedom of Information Request

Requests should be made in writing and should include:

  • your name

  • a clear description of the information you are requesting

Requests can be sent to:

What Happens Next

We will acknowledge and consider your request in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Where the Act applies, we will normally respond within 20 working days.

In some circumstances, information may be withheld where an exemption applies. If this happens, we will explain the reason for our decision.

Publication Scheme

MAST follows the Information Commissioner’s Office model publication scheme for public authorities.

The publication scheme sets out the types of information we routinely make available, including information about:

  • who we are and what we do
  • what we spend and how we spend it
  • our priorities and performance
  • how we make decisions
  • our policies and procedures
  • lists and registers
  • the services we offer

Complaints and Reviews

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you may ask the Trust to carry out an internal review.

Requests for an internal review should be sent to:

natalie.hobbs@mastacademy.co.uk

If you remain dissatisfied after the internal review, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which oversees freedom of information law in the UK.
