How We Support Schools

The Centre Team works across all our schools, providing both support and constructive challenge to ensure each school performs to the highest possible standards, thereby delivering educational excellence for every child.

Acting as a shared service for the Trust, the team enables consistency, efficiency, and best practice across all schools, while allowing leaders to focus on teaching and learning.

The MAST Centre Team is a highly effective resource that supports our schools across a range of key operational and strategic areas, including Finance, Human Resources, Estates and Procurement.

By centralising expertise and resources, the Centre Team delivers value for money, ensures strong governance and compliance, and promotes collaboration and continuous improvement across the Trust.

We are deeply committed to a high level of focus on effective School Improvement. We use a rich evidence base to ensure we are providing our schools with the most effective methods to improve provision for our pupils. Our school improvement offer forms the basis of how we work with schools, and the entitlement to support they receive.

Our philosophy for school improvement is routed in building capacity and developing staff at all levels so improvements are sustainable. We recognise that education professionals are busy and rarely have free time to engage in research, so we work to distil key aspects of this to staff as part professional development opportunities.

School Improvement

As part of our school improvement offer, we develop and deliver a wide range of Continuous Professional Development led by expert practitioners who have excelled in the areas they lead on. This focus on people development forms part of our entitlement for staff regarding their career development.

The schools, both Church of England and Community, work together to improve. This includes a programme of Best Practice Team meetings over the course of the academic year, encompassing curriculum subjects, leadership, wellbeing and SEND; improving practice, and developing consistency across the trust.

We review our offer every year, considering feedback from schools on what has worked well, and the latest education research. We believe that the continual development of how we work with schools will enable all to flourish and succeed.
