Children from our after‑school club have been celebrating after taking part in an exciting Young Artists competition, where creativity and imagination were very much on the menu!

For the challenge, pupils were asked to reimagine foods as book characters—designing, naming, and illustrating completely original creations. From playful pastries to adventurous vegetables, the children produced a fantastic range of imaginative characters.

A number of the best entries were selected to be published in a brand‑new book, Food Friends Featuring Daisy the Rollerskating Doughnut. Having their artwork appear in a real book has been a huge source of pride for the children, who were thrilled to see their ideas brought to life in print.
