All Saints School Council Visits the Houses of Parliament

Bringing democracy to life for young leaders

Pupils from the All Saints School Council enjoyed an exciting and inspiring day in London as they travelled to Westminster for a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. The visit gave the children a unique opportunity to step inside one of the UK’s most important historic and political buildings.

During the tour, pupils explored both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, learning about how laws are made and how debates take place. They also discovered the rich history of the Palace of Westminster and saw famous landmarks such as Westminster Hall and Central Lobby.

The experience brought their learning about democracy and British values to life, sparking thoughtful questions and lively discussion. Staff accompanying the trip said the children represented the school brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Parliament in action.

The visit was an unforgettable opportunity for the School Council to deepen their understanding of how the country is governed and the role they can play as active, responsible citizens.
